Living with Science
Living with Science has been designed to harness the natural enquiry of young people.
It provides organized equipment for hands-on experiments, multimedia software lessons with a helpful guide called Lenia and a Standards-based management system that incorporates both individual and whole-class assessment and testing.
It creates an active, hands-on learning environment where there is a mixture of topics and experiments, all happening at the same time. The learning is student centered, enabling teachers to act as facilitators.
Within this setting, students develop science skills as well as problem solving, co-operative working skills and presentation skills.
Comprehensive teacher support materials are provided. These are in the form of comprehensive guides that contain an outline of each assignment, answers to all questions and inquiry sheet solutions.
Student inquiry lab sheets are provided in PDF electronic form and these can be opened and printed on a local printer.
An inventory management system is linked to the computer management system. Equipment is stored in special carts that house individual trays, making the many parts very easy to track and manage.
