This month sees the opening of the Black Country University Technicial College and LJ Create have just finished the first installation phase of a suite of interactive and practical resources.
These resources will help this exciting new College meet the demands of their courses, whilst ensuring the students receive a world-class educational experience. The installation includes:
Having a long established relationship with Walsall College (the sponsor for the UTC), LJ Create's resources were identified very early on as a beneficial addition to the UTC, due to their flexibility to match a range of courses and to integrate them into any future curriculum requirements.
As the UTC will be delivering the Level 2 and 3 Engineering Diploma at the heart of the curriculum, it was also important for the teaching staff to benefit from the supporting materials LJ Create have developed for this course, to enable them to hit the ground running.
Here's what Gordon Mills the UTC's Director of Business Engagement had to say.
"The Black Country University Technical College (UTC) is the first purpose built UTC to open in the UK, offering a bespoke innovative curriculum to
14 -19 year old learners. Specialising in cutting edge Engineering Technologies along side STEM and GCSE’s, learners have the opportunity to achieve the English Baccalaureate and Higher Diploma in Engineering. As
they progress they are able to study the Advanced Diploma with "A" levels or opt to work towards an Advanced Apprenticeship.
The curriculum has been designed by a consortium of employers, awarding bodies and UTC staff, thus ensuring that learners have exposure to the best possible industrially focused educational training available.
LJ Create have played a crucial role in this unique development. They have worked alongside the curriculum team providing the expertise, hardware and blended learning material which collectively has provided a innovative support package for each of the projects that underpin the learners journey.
The result for learners undertaking their study at the UTC, is that they are now able to gain their knowledge and strengthen their understanding through a variety of hands-on technical and e-resources ensuring the effective development of STEM and Engineering subjects.
The LJ Create team have provided an excellent service throughout, from supporting roadshows to installation and training. Learners at the UTC now have a world class facility providing them with the best possible start to a career in Engineering. "
