LJ Create gave students a taste of their motor vehicle technology blended learning resources at the Rockingham Speedway racing circuit during an event to encourage students to take up careers in the motor race engineering industry.
October 2011 saw Rockingham Speedway racing circuit play host to over 500 young people interested in pursuing careers in the motor industry. The event allowed school and college students to get hands on experience of a variety of potential careers, and also gave them access to talk to those people in the industry, and develop a true understanding of what it means to acquire the right skills and knowledge.
Taster sessions included activities ranging from high speed pursuit drives in a traffic police car, through to mechanical maintenance challenges. LJ Create were pleased to get involved and support the event with some of our interactive teaching aids. We offered a vehicle diagnostics challenge where students had to correctly identify a fault in a virtual vehicle and use diagnostics tools to rectify the fault. The students all responded very well to the challenge and showed a keen interest in understanding the principals behind the task.
Feedback for the event was extremely positive, and plans are already in the making for a bigger and better event next year. If you are keen to find out more about this event or maybe even get involved, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
