Windows XP Service Pack 2 - ClassAct NT Workaround

Installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 onto your ClassAct management system computer may cause communication with your ClassAct Student Workstations to be blocked.

By default, XP Service Pack 2 blocks most TCP ports using its built-in firewall. ClassAct NT requires that TCP port 5001 is opened for communication with the student workstation on the internal network. You can make this setting manually yourself (refer to the Microsoft help on making exclusions) or download and run the above script file to have it set for you.

Note: If your ClassAct workstations also have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed then you must make a similar change on each workstation as well. Click here for more information.

Compatibility
This update is compatible with all versions of ClassAct NT.

1. Download the above script file onto your ClassAct NT management system computer.
2. Double-click the file from Windows Explorer.
