Virtual Microscope Stand-alone CD (English Version 1.0b Dec) - Patch 1

Virtual Microscope Stand-alone CD (English Version 1.0b December 2007) displays the warning message ’This simulator requires a later version of the Adobe Flash Player’ every time the application is run, if Flash Player 10 or later is installed.

This issue does not affect the running of the application in any way, but if you would like to remove the message you can download and install this patch file.

If you are unsure of the version of your Virtual Microscope software you can find it in the splash screen of the application every time it is launched.

Note: There are 2 different installers for version 1.0b. This is the patch for the December 2007 installer. To check which installer you have you will need to check your original CD:

Look at the contents of your CD, using Windows explorer, and find the date of the file named Microscope_install.exe, which is in the Support folder. If the date of your installer is 18 December 2007, this is the patch you need. If the date is 4 April 2007, you will need the patch for ’Version 1.0b Apr’.

Note: This patch is suitable for the Virtual Microscope installed from CD1352P/b. If you are running the Virtual Microscope from within the ’Exploring the Nature of Science’ module you should download and run the patch listed as ’SciTEK Science - Exploring the Nature of Science Simulator Patch 1’ instead.

Ensure that you have sufficient permissions to perform an install.
