Why does my USB Adapter not communicate with the attached hardware?

After installing the USB ADAP1 device driver, applications which communicate with the attached hardware either display an error or fail to detect the hardware.

The USB ADAP 1 driver on Version D of CD1361 - USB Communications Software Installation Disk, has a missing file.

Either install the USB ADAP 2 driver from this same disk (which includes the missing file) or download and copy the missing file (See SYS1107).
