Does LJ software support Windows 7?
An extensive test program has been carried out to ensure the compatibility of all LJ product with Microsoft Windows 7.
Testing carried out on the 32-bit version of Windows 7 has indicated that all applications that function correctly on Windows Vista 32-bit will also work on Windows 7 32-bit.
In the unlikely event that you do encounter a problem with an LJ application on Windows 7 32-bit that previously worked, then it is recommended that you update to the latest version of that software. The following versions of the core system applications have been tested on Window 7 32-bit edition:
- ClassAct NT Management System (V1.6 - CD1356/C)
- ClassAct Workstation (V1.6 - CD1355/C)
- ClassAct SRS (V1.2 CD1248/D)
- eContent Utilities (V1 CD1231/E)
A representative sample of the different learning content types, CARA, On-Screen Manual and HTML eContent have also been tested.
Windows 7 64-bit Edition Updates
There are some compatibility issues with the 64-bit edition of Windows 7. Lack of 64-bit driver support and older software components require that some applications will need to be installed to run in the new Windows 7 XP compatibility mode (see next section).
With the appropriate updates (see below), the majority of HTML based eContent, the stand-alone eContent utilities (CD1231/E) and ClassAct SRS will all run natively on 64-bit Windows 7.
The following 64-bit updates are available:
SYS1113 - ClassAct SRS/Qwizdom drivers
SYS1114 - LJ Parallel Port driver
SYS1115 - USB Communications Software
SYS1116 - D3000 Experiment Platform
SYS1117 - D3000 VIP2
SYS1118 - D3000 VLAB2
SYS1119 - LJ dataLog 120 or Q3+ datalogger drivers
FAQ1282 - Development Software for PIC board D3000 16.1,

The following CD releases are 64-bit compatible and therefore do not need the above updates:
CD1248/E - ClassAct SRS
CD1361/F - USB Communications
CD1360/C - D3000 Experiment Platform
CD1282/F - D3000 VIP2
