Electronic Communications

This practical activities-based thematic pack provides students with an in-depth insight into the world of electronic communications and how the technologies are applied at both a personal level, and in commerce and industry. Activities include using a transmitter/receiver system simulation and matching hardware unit to investigate wired and wireless transmissions. The students examine how cell phones and phone networks operate, and how voice and data transmissions are made over the internet. They also investigate broadcasting and digital TV and radio, and work with simulations that provide information about interconnecting everyday equipment such as phones, TVs and multimedia equipment.
