Simulator - Virtual DataLogger (US)
This is a PC-based Logger which allows students to become familiar with the various functions of metering and logging offered with a data logger. They can learn that different scientific quantities can be measured with the logger by using different sensors connected to the logger and Understand the concepts of accuracy and resolution associated with the sensors.
Having made themselves familiar with the Data Logger, students can then use the logger, with the appropriate PC-based sensors connected, to carry out a range of virtual experiments that include:
- Measurement of light levels and the relationship between light and distance
- Measurement of magnetic field strength and the exploration of the field around a bar magnet
- Measurement of pulse rate and the effect of exercise on the human pulse rate
- Measurement of temperature and heating and cooling cycles for liquids
- Measurement of distance by reflected ultrasonic wave
- Measurement of velocity and acceleration of a vehicle on an inclined ramp
While recording results from the experiments, students can select to connect the logger to an on-screen PC which will present the logged results in tabular or graphical form.
