No Child Left Behind
The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act ties federal funding of education to the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) of students on federally mandated assessment tools (NAEP).
What is NCLB?
As part of the NCLB Act, funds are made available to US schools to ensure that all students, regardless of their background or status, achieve high standards.
The act focuses on the academic differences achieved by students on completion of their basic education. Often, this is due to the lack of appropriate guidance during the early years.
Is my school eligible?
To access NCLB funds, educators must show how these funds will be used to implement activities that are supported by scientifically-based research.
To help you justify your NCLB funds, we have compiled a cross-reference table, which matches the requirements set by the NCLB initiative to the statements achieved within our Living with Science academic program.
