System Update Details :
Updated SQL DB Setup

SQL DB Setup.exe, /support/updates/files/SQL DB Setup.exe
Support ID: SYS1112
Filename: SQL DB Setup.exe
Size: 0.39 MB
Uploaded: 10/30/2009 1:21:49 PM
Description:

This utility creates the SQL database and its users during installation of ClassAct NT and ClassAct SRS in SQL shared database mode.

The default password security policies on Windows 2003 server or later have been made more strict. This can result in the ClassAct SQL database users not being created properly during the installation and setup of a ClassAct SQL database.

If these users are not created correctly, ClassAct will not be able to connect to the database.

The attached updated 'SQL DB Setup.exe' application will fix this issue and create the users correctly during the ClassAct database install.

History:

Version 1.0.0.3 - 30th October 2009
Handles stricter password restriction policy when creating SQL users.

Instructions:

You only need to carry out these instructions when setting up a new database. Performing these steps on an existing database would result in all data being lost.

  1. Create a folder on the machine hosting your database and copy the 'Support\Installers\SQL Utilities' folder from your ClassAct disk into it.
  2. Replace the 'SQL DB Setup.exe' file in this folder with the one attached to this update and run it following any on-screen instructions.
  3. If you have already created the database using the older version of the 'SQL DB Setup' and the user creation has failed, then you will have to:

Double-click the ‘Update’ radio button to enable the ‘Replace’ option. Select this option and answer 'Yes’ to the prompt – be aware that this will install a completely new, empty database.
