Some of our learning materials benefit from the use of a 3D printer. Most printers will be suitable for the tasks covered in ClassAct II however the following criteria will need to be met:
SETTINGS FOR PRINTING 3D MOULDS
The following settings are based on a Flashforge Dreamer 3D printer, you may need to adapt these settings slightly to suit your particular model.
Layer height = 0.14 mm
First layer height = 0.21 mm
Base speed = 60 mm/s
Extruder temperature = 230
Platform temperature = 110
Perimeter (outside surface)
Perimeters/shell count = 6
Perimeter print speed = 50 % of base speed
Infill (filling inside object)
Top solid layers = 6
Bottom solid layers = 2
Fill density = 50%
Fill pattern = Hexagon
Overlap perimeter = 70%
Solid layer print speed = 50% of base speed
Extrusion ratio = 110%
